Istanbul-based artist Uğur Gallenkuş (@ugurgallen) creates photo collages as a way to encourage social change, a wakeup call on the duality of the world we all live in.

In his ongoing series, the West is shown as a place of luxury while people in countries like Syria face grave destruction and fight to stay alive. The differences are as striking as they are heartbreaking.

This image shows Holland's colorful tulip field side-by-side with rows of guns in the Middle East. We can instantly understand that while one population can appreciate nature's beauty, the other fears extreme violence in their lives.

Art transcends all languages. We hope that these images would awaken us to the injustice in the world we are living in.
