For those who donβt know, Niccolo Cosme is a thought provoking, sensual and disruptive portrait photographer from the Philippines.
βI landed my very first shoot for a fashion column, I was probably 23 and with no studio experience yet.
I entered the studio and was handed over the flash trigger and was presented several studio lights which I have never seen or tried ever in my life but I knew I had to deliver, it was a make or break moment.
I tried to figure out how the lights work with caution, I did not want them to see that I did not know what I was dealing with. I was really clueless and very very anxious.
As the time was ticking, it probably took more than 30 minutes to test shoot.
Then I had this idea of a theme, I thought, maybe the model is being abducted by the light because a part of the photo was washed out! And I could not figure out how to fix it!
When the editor asked to see what I had in mind, she looked at the photo from the camera, scrunched her eyes, looked at me, she paused and said..."I love it!!!"
Omg! I thought I was going to collapse!!! That was my first ever studio shoot. Monumental.β
Have you come across something as dramatic as that in your photography journey? Whatβs your funny shooting story?
