When Pete Eckert found out he's going to lose his sight 27 years ago, he's on his way to becoming an architect. It was also around this time that he discovered his mother’s old camera.
Eckert is now an award-winning photographer. 
As he famously said, “You don’t need eyes to recognize beauty”.
When working on Volkswagen's project, he captured these captivating, ghostly images by building them in his mind
, using sound 
and touch 
to visualize the vehicles.
He was able to get a feel for the curves and design features which he later artistically captured on camera.
