Jasmin photography from Vietnam recently told us a clever and simple trick to create a romantic ‘floating’ feeling on his portraits.

To do this, you simply need your DSLR camera and your phone!

First place your phone horizontally underneath your camera lens. Look through your viewfinder where you’ll see part of the composition being reflected onto the bottom half.

Try rotating your phone while still holding it close to your lens to get the effect you want.

Although this trick will work with certain architecture with shapes or patterns, Jasmin always prefers doing this out in the woods at 4-5pm during the day. He particularly loves a hint of mirroring of sunshine, clouds and shadows of beautiful trees.
